Set It Up
one of the best modern rom coms. This basically gave birth to Glen Powell and look at him now.
something about this rewatch made it hit more. I loved Harper’s journey with writing at the end. You can’t be good at something until you’re bad at it first. I’ve always been so afraid of failure or not being good at something that I don’t even try to do it. What’s the point of doing something if you’re not good at it? Why be just good at something when you can be the best? I know it’s stupid cuz you’re allowed to be bad at something when you first start. This isn’t a fantasy world where you just have an innate talent/skill that will magically make you perfect at a job or project (but god do I wish it was)
Makes me thing of Whiplash a little where obviously he worked so hard (to the point where his fingers bled) but there was this innate desire or passion he had that pushed him to that point. To the point where he refused to settle for less, refused to be mediocre, refused to be anything but the best. Idk if I have that about something in my life tbh :/
Wow, this review took a turn lol
