Possession
I still feel the same way I did the first time I saw it, it’s a really good movie with a compelling metaphor.
The acting is just as impressive as ever, as is that utterly bizarre atmosphere.
A second viewing is clearly necessary to take everything in, since the first time around you’re just shocked and traumatized by what you see. This time, I was able to notice how the creature physically evolves and how it looks on camera at certain moments. I realize how extremely well made it is for a 1981 film, it could rival the greatest in terms of horror creatures.
The ending of the film makes even more sense on a second viewing, it’s less of a head-scratcher.
A very good film with absolutely traumatic scenes, the subway scene is just WOW, once again.
