Poor Things

259/365 BIFF - #1 Probably my favourite movie of the year so far! But I still have the rest of my BIFF screenings to get through.  Honestly could be biased because of my immense love for Ramy and Willem Dafoe but holy shit this was funny. I feel so lucky to have seen it in a packed out theatre at a film festival because the whole crowd was cracking up. This is mainly due to Mark Ruffalo and Emma Stone who deliver every line in the most hilarious way possible.  Also it’s shot so uniquely, the zooms and the fish eye lenses effects are so creative and unique  Lanthimos has his usual surrealist elements but this story had so much heart and felt so grounded. It is very different to the two other movies of his that I’ve seen (the lobster and killing of a sacred dear)  Anyway I loved it
