Nope

This is my fifth time watching this movie but my first time ever logging it into letterboxd, this was the movie that started it all for my movie watching love and what made me start making list and ranking movies and finding out about letterboxd Did it hold up to the first time of me watching it, I would say no, and it didnt get better on rewatch but it most definitely didn't get worse, the first time I watched it and after I was obsessed and really fell in love with this movie This is still one of my favorite movies of all time, it's not number 1 but its up there, I think going around flaunting this movie made me mentally overhype it a little in my brain but really I love the vibe and atmosphere of its, its genuinely the best i've ever seen, there's no other movie with this same vibe I also recently brought a lot of merchandise from this movie and I already own the orange scorpion king hoodie and black hat oj wears Truly a spectacle Literally not a fragment of a second where I was bored or uninterested, entertaining in every single moment First I want to talk about how people don't understand the purpose of gordy, at SURFACE LEVEL its Jupes backstory, I don't understand how people don't understand that, the people who dont understand its deeper meaning and are trying to find it but can't make it a whole thing about it not needing to be in the movie but at its core and simply its his backstory and adds to the character so we care about him but obviously that's not the only reason it's in the movie, it's a whole thing with symbolism that can be explained better by someone else on youtube The cinematography and look of this movie is so beautiful, shooting on IMAX was the best decision The music in this movie is insane and one of the best film scores of all time Micheal Abels killed it, the run urban legends was perfect and I'm pretty sure it existed before the movie but he added it in and of course tweaked. All the music is so good, from the beautiful tracks, to the theme park music and the horror ones. The acting was superb, after watching this movie for the first time Daniel Kaluuya became one of my and if not my favorite actor, not only because of his performance in this but in, Black Mirror, the movie he REALLY shines in and everyone knows him from Get Out, and Across the Spider Verse, he's also in Judas and the black messiah but as for right now I haven't seen it, his acting in this movie of course is subtle but its real, like one of my friends were saying he's a bad actor and like that was actually one of the stupidest things he's ever said, he portrays so much emotion with his face and in silence Keke palmer was AMAZING she was so so funny and she such a good actress, all of her emotional and dramatic moments were so sad and I felt all of it Angel probably my favorite character, is so fun and funny as well Ant was definitely something… Not a bad character nor am I saying the actor was bad but just a very weird guy And of course Jupe an amazing character as well Talking about the horror in this movie, I know its compared and said inspired by tremors and Jaws and close encounters of the third kind, i've seen jaws but not recently and i've never seen tremors or third kind but besides those there's nothing else i've seen like this, how it shows the clouds and how the jean jacket moves through it and how the scare factor is the sky is such a cool concept to me and I literally haven't seen it anywhere else, one of the most unique movies to me ever I definitely have so much more to say and could honestly write a full essay and review about this movie and on every scene and I kind of want to but that's for another time! “Come on man, the little guys with the big eyes, yep theres lots of theories, either that or there intergalactic travelers looking for piece, or futuristic humans coming back to stop us from destroying the planet or there fcking world killers planetary destroyers and that means they’ve been fcking watching us and studying us waiting for the perfect time to beam us up, and shove metal probes up our f*cking asses”
