Obsession
Fucking Phenomenal, a new modern day horror classic
Ever since I first saw the teaser of the scene with him calling the guy asking for a refund I knew I needed to see this.
This movie has mastered movement. Similar to the original amazing masterful Asian horror. The unpredictable staggered movement in my favorite scene of the movie when she’s standing in the corner. And she runs across with the plant. And then later on when she walks backwards in reverse oh my gosh that was so so good. And again when she was walking weird in the background in the finale. My favorite stuff is the movement of the monster in horror and this movie did it perfectly. Like I was genuinely sunk in my seat for those scenes and was tearing up at the first one.
No cliche cheap jumpscares. Everything was high quality, well timed, amazingly executed.
Insane acting from Inde Navarrette. Incredible, her performance is just unreal I can even put it into words. Same to Michael Johnston as Bear.
The cinematography oh my gosh, so good. I loved when it just stayed put and the scene would just go on. I loved seeing all of the horrors happening in the background of the frame.
The score! The music work with this movie was CRAZY. Such good music that synced up with things and stopped and continued, so great. The music was so nice and then would just turn eerie.
Besides all of the amazing technical stuff. I was deeply attached to the characters and what was happening in the movie.
