The difference between cultural appreciation and cultural appropriation. It’s such a beautiful recreation of Hindu mythology. You don't need to be a believer, just an appreciator of animation and the arts to love this.

i vividly remember my parents telling me bed time stories.
throughout my childhood, i've always been fascinated by kathakali. being a timeless performance artform, i've always associated with it a sense of 'malayali'ness. what else can engage a curious kid's mind than the captivating art of simple storytelling? so be it a vesham or stylized soviet animation, a story is a story. and ain't indian mythology as rich with epic tales, captivating narrations and creation myths? this one's the creation of travancore, wooh! and this one's the russian way of storytelling haaah! we have a badass bgm and perfect intro to kaali haha.
btw there's electronic music too
