waitt ts is yuri??? I genuinely thought she was a he, cus, like “oh, looks similar to Choso!” “oh wait.. the girl’s blonde, too. Choso and Yuki in another universe, then!” It’s actually cute, why wasn’t I aware she’s a girl 😭. But the art style is not to my liking and I personally think that the creator should put more effort.. imo.. looks like a 11-12 year old art styles I’m sorry 🙂↕️

i love the emo and preppy sapphic relationship trope, this short reminds me of i love amy and the references to different queer media were dope.

This short film can be watched here: Lovie Dovie (2022)
Francesca Brescia has made a sweet and charming short film that innocently explores a young woman exploring her relationship choices. I l love the story and the animation, it gives happy vibes--even the sadder parts are happy, sad. The animation is very basic and not as strong as the idea or the story. One must remember that this is a student film--though an award winning student film, and Francessca's style may continue to develop and expand. (Or maybe it never will and she will rely on simple animation to tell her stories--like Cyanide and Happiness). Either way, I am interested to see what she does next.
Thank you to Letterboxd friend, moth, for getting this on my Friend’s Short Film Project Watchlist
