Hot Rod *is my favorite type of humor. Andy Samberg, Danny McBride and Bill Hader are so good, they had me dying the whole film.

A boy must do a stunt never attempted before to save his stepdad so he can kick his stepdads ass to earn his favor as a man. I shit you not, that is the entire plot of the movie. It’s definitely got some funny bits in there but sadly a lot of the humor is random humor which I can sometimes enjoy and him embarrassing himself which can either be hilarious or kind of cringe. In this case it falls more under cringe than funny, don’t get me wrong, I definitely had a few chuckles throughout the movie but overall it’s not a great comedy. I wouldn’t really say there’s a whole lot of super memorable or quotable lines which is usually what I love in comedies. It’s a really mediocre comedy for me but yeah I’ll definitely watch it again.

After an eternity of rooting in my watchlist this movie did not disappoint, this was an absolute blast had me dying of laughter, if you like napoleon dynamite I imagine you would like this.
