The vicious, power-mad Kano is determined to take over Earthrealm, one soul at a time. Assisted by a trio of cold Black Dragon mercenaries, he embarks on a brutal assault from town to defenseless town. The choice is simple: kneel or be annihilated. Kenshi, a rebel warrior, calls on Kuai Liang, the only one powerful enough to challenge the malevolent Kano. But Kuai Liang has given up the ways of the warrior, and Kenshi is too undisciplined to defeat Kano himself. If Kuai Liang cannot break through the glacier of doubt that holds him back, Earthrealm will fall.

Damn this is peak. I was so excited about watching this since Kenshi has always been a top 3 MK character for me, he's like the daredevil of mortal kombat cause yk he blind n' shit. but yeah, very good story and amazing characters. It was so nice seeing Kabal and tremor, and also erron black and ofc sub-zero and scorpion.
And just the plotpoint that Kuai Liang is mentoring Kenshi is just so cool too.
One thing that I absolutely hated was that they changed the animation style, bro this shit looks like the tomorrowverse and I've never liked that animation style, so soulless and shallow, I wish they would've kept the same animation style they had for the first 2 movies. If they kept that, I would rate this higher. Also it was pretty weird that sub-zero and the others were old and I didn't really get why. Maybe I just missed sum important.

I applaud them for their originality with this story. As much as I hated the whole MK11 time travel shenanigans I’ll admit that this was a great way of following it up, opening up the door to explore the characters arcade endings.
Kano was such an interesting pick to serve as the main antagonist given his prior experience as a top tier jobber. Having Shang Tsung job to Kano was hilarious as well. I’ll admit I thought Shang would over throw him to be the main villain but Kano letting him think he could win then absolutely embarrassing him had me gagged. I just love how they did him

I love Mortal Kombat so much! One of my favourite franchises ever.
My fear was that the animated movies weren't gonna feel like mortal kombat or that they'd dial back the absurdities that made the franchise what it is... but I can safely say that they did not disappoint!
Not to mention that Kenshi and Kuai Liang are two of my favourite MK characters so I was bound to enjoy it!
