Reminds me so much of Lumet's Dog Day Afternoon (maybe I should be less referential, and less referential to American cinema at that) due to the ensuing lockdown and media frenzy which are both parts as comical and nonsensical as the ones in the aforementioned movie. I like using cinema as the common thread between all these players and building on our fear of the imagination. We go to theaters and watch movies to get fooled and sometimes it's hard to differentiate when ideas or moments are happenstance or are supposed to be kind of reflective of our own lives; the last conversation is really good and is a great closer, but the movie in it's entirety is missing that special something. I went to Italy twice when I was abroad and it did have this slow, casual vibe that can be felt in this. Maybe that vibe is decreasing the overall level of urgency, but at the same time I don't think this would enter the top 5 most crazy things that happened to me while I was there. I think Italy is just a kooky place.
Even with the weightiness this is missing, it's still cool cause you get to see a bunch of Italians posted up in some pretty dapper clothing smoke under moody lighting while talking about the importance of movies. I'm not a smoker and never would but they always make it look so cool in these scenarios and I love movies so this speaks to me on some spiritual level
