I am not one easy to cry in movies, but here we are. Passion is such a strong story, very complex, dark, intoxicating, but beautiful in every way. The power of Fosca’s character is only intensified by the music, words alone couldn’t do her justice. I Wish I Could Forget You is my favorite song, Donna Murphy is divine, and overall I think the musical managed to capture Giorgio’s emotional journey even better than the movie. Human feelings are complicated, and whatever happened between Fosca and Giorgio, as unhealthy and strange as it was, had all the intense vulnerability I always search for in fiction. Now onto the book: this story deserves to be experienced in all of its forms.
