NOTE: Letterboxd does not have the actual Heartstopper so just know im talking about the show about the gay people and not the one about the gorey killer or whatever.
I'm halfway through season 3 and all I can say is this show is perfection. I get all the comments about it being cringe and I agree to some extent but to what degree is that sentiment internalized homophobia... This is so important on so many levels not only does it give Gay kids, trans kids, asexual kids, whatever kids hope for the future and what they can become. It also tells them that what they feel is normal and that so many other people feel this way and will love them for this, it handles important issues in such a delicate and educational way. It manages to delve into topics so deep whilst keeping the subject matter palatable. All of the characters are so gosh darn adorable, the plotlines are well managed, the music is fucking great literally "Abigail" by Frankie Cosmos was already in my playlist so it was a jumpscare when I heard it. The animations they do are so charming. Wait... I think that's it. The word to describe this show is charming. or is it sweet. or is it comforting. whatever it is I like it and it deserves all the praise as does it's phenomenally talented cast, Some highlights being Kit Connor, super handsome and truly the next biggest star, Joe Locke a hidden gem who is destined for greatness, Kizzy Edgell just a freaking star and Yasmin Finney an Icon. Of course everyone else did an amazing job but I'm writing this while severely sleep deprived and these were the names that stuck out.
