For me, it just felt too clinical and boring. It never felt like we were getting a full picture and we're stuck in this slow trudge through a story that (as presented) just isn't that interesting. It certainly didn't help that I still feel like I know nothing about this lady beyond her caring about these gorillas. What's her goal? What's the endgame? I still don't really even understand why she's out here in the first place. I get that National Geographic is paying for her.....research(?) but what are they getting out of it? I think it's implied that she's getting some new information about the gorillas' behavior patterns or whatever, but I never get anything concrete other than she's fucking nuts (in regards to how she approaches the gorillas). I'm never presented with a reason to care. There were more interesting plot threads introduced later, but those get rushed. The story is straight forward, but the way it's told leaves me with a lot of questions.
