Kind of sad to see one of my favorite childhood series go out on such a wet fart of a last movie to finish out the trilogy. For about 90% of the movie, it’s a straight snooze fest, they should’ve called it voyage of the Yawn treader. The only real saving grace of this film is the cobra sea serpent scene was lowkey fire actually, the serpent was actually super dope. The ending when Aslan shows up and gives his speech was also beautifully done, it was a somber ending to a childhood classic for me, I do think they tied the story up nicely at the end. To bad the rest of the movie sucked. Number one thing that bothered me, the green mist, why did it like eat people in the very beginning, like what was the point if they all were still alive at the end. Like, huh? It doesn’t make sense. Also the statistical chance of them running into all the lords and finding all the swords, like labrobro, that’s just some lazy writing. Gave me Star Wars sith dagger vibes. The random slave traders as well, just there for no reason. The main villain is the biggest problem though in the fact that there really isn’t one. The other movies had a big bad person to root against but in this one I’m rooting against a cloud essentially, it’s hard to get emotionally invested in that. Besides the nostalgia and the serpent, there’s nothing that this movie has going for it and it would be much lower if not for those reasons. It is a bit heartbreaking to me that this is what I will always remember as the end of the the chronicles of Narnia. Yeah I’ll watch it again when I rewatch the trilogy though.
