The first time I ever heard “Goodbye Horses” was on the Skate 3 radio station when I was 9 years old. I was star struck. I absolutely fucking loved it, I would always get excited waiting for it to rotate back around and play again. Eventually my interest in the game died down and I forgot about the song. When I was a preteen, my mother showed me Silence of the Lambs for the first time. When I heard those opening notes as Buffalo Bill stepped away from the camera it opened up that memory of the song I forgot I had. I was completely mesmerized by the song all over again like I had heard it for the first time. Fast forward to today, I’m 20 years old, and that song has from that point forward been my favorite. There’s not one moment where I don’t wanna listen to that song, not one day I would skip it in my playlist, not one year it wasn’t my most played song. For years I was heartbroken that there wasn’t any other music from Q Lazzarus, and even more that no one had any information on her.
When I heard this documentary was coming out and I got to hear all those lost songs, I cried….Finally getting to watch this documentary, I sobbed.
I’m sure there’s many others out there like me who feel incredibly close to Goodbye horses, and are sobbing with me while watching this.
