A refreshing spin on this black fatherhood story.
The screenplay is excellent in subverting expectations on what seems like a familiar tale. Miles Warren is one to watch out for with confident direction and a distinctive voice.
The ending works thematically, but don’t think it was the best choice cinematically.

a 4:3 aspect ratio is always going to make me find a film beautiful to look at, each scene always feels so intentional although the colors and lighting were a bit muddy for me
