I liked half of what they did here. Some of the effects were cool and the overarching story was good, but none of the segments could live up to the first one. Anthologies have a way of being very hit and miss and this is no acception. The vampire segment felt very unfitting taking place after an otherwise mostly serious movie, which is unfortunate because the idea of an absent minded vampire racing daylight to get back home is actually pretty clever. I think that should have been it’s own movie honestly. When you try to go funny in a horror anthology you have to go all the way. It’s not enough to make me smile here and there you have to make your audience belly laugh in order for it not to feel conflicting with the aesthetic you are trying to create.
