It has some things going for it, most of my favorite 80s action comedy cliches are there, Morita does a good job as does the rest of the cast, and some good action sequences (that windshield scene at the end helps bump up my rating).
But… Jay Leno. It’s very easy to see why this is his only leading role, especially in an action movie. I just don’t buy him as a tough Detroit cop. I mean would you with that high pitched voice of his? Yeah, talk show/game show host is better suited for you, Jay.
If I ever get on You Bet Your Life, I’m reminding Jay of this movie.
