Found the VHS tape for this while at my grandparents house, and decided to put it in the old CRT TV with a built in VHS and DVD combo player that was in the guest room to see if it still worked. Man, I could write an entire thesis about how this whole movie is a queer/trans allegory that was just ahead of its time. I don’t care if its a box office flop, it’s MY box office flop.

This is a lot of fun, and I watched it after Nope. Nope seems sort of influenced by Spielberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind, which this movie substantially copies, so it's kind of funny to watch them back to back. I don't think my friend had ever seen Close Encounters, though...
