Although it's basically the entire reason I fell in love with him as a filmmaker in the first place, it was quite interesting to watch a film from Sam Raimi that didn't even have a hint of his trademark silliness and instead as the title promises takes a more stripped back approach to it's storytelling.
It's good old fashioned psychological tension building fuelled by a concoction of paranoia, greed and guilt that kept me gripped from beginning to end which proves that Raimi is just as good at crafting drama as he is at schlock.
