eleventh log of frenchbruary
moving into winter’s tale, i met félicie, who once in relationship with charles before they were separated. a simple mistake turned into years of silence. still, félicie held on to hope all that time, even as she became involved with two other men.
this one feels more dialogue-heavy and slower than summer and spring, and probably the most romantic so far. félicie is a true hopeless romantic, sustained almost entirely by faith, the belief that she’ll meet charles again someday. she’s painfully honest about this longing, even with the men in her life. though i’ll admit, it frustrated me how she seems to toy with their feelings. still, maybe hope is the only thing that keeps us going. there’s something undeniably beautiful about that.
