Absolutely devastating. Judy Malinowski's story is so heartbreaking, and she was so immensely strong. I'm sure a lot of people will look at her resilience as inspiring, I see it as a sign that we have not come nearly as far as we should be in protecting women, especially women who don't bare the title of perfect victim. The police dismissing her pleas for help before the accident as nothing they could do because of her drug abuse was so terrifying. This is one of many reasons why people stay in abusive relationships.
I could ramble on and on about the injustice of it all. What I did appreciate especially from this documentary is the focus on Judy's mother and how she talks to her grand-daughters about the situation. There was a lot of open communication, especially with what kind of verdict they were hoping for.
