drawcinema summary:
I saw this film at my college and attented an Q&A with the producers.
Movies like this made me realize why some movies are bad. Not because of a cash-grab or the lack of care given to a film, but rather the execution. This film had all the potential for something great, a love letter to cinema, especially in 2026, here film and theatre is at risk, but instead it become a mess of something that never got up off the ground.
This entire filmw as a fever dream.
I like the intro and the references to old style cinema, the magic of what it means to create was inspiring. Everything else, was shit. Even Al Pachino wasn't able to save this film with his Godfather magic.
Let me list all of the problems that this film had.
1. In the begining, why did the hankerchief move? Was it magic?
2. Is it supposed to be magic or inside Alex's head?
3. If it's inside Alex's head, who the hell is Al Pacino's character?
4. Rick Ross was in the film, but only for two seconds.
5. Was there even a reason for the bathtub scene?
6. The over-shadowing of the plot with the female roommate was crazy, romance is 50/50 in most movies, but there was no reason why it was needed. Even the producers didn't give a clear answer.
7. Pacino's character fades out like a ghost at the end of the movie, chessy AF.
8. I like the music choices. (I know it wasn't a bad thing, but I just wanted to say that.)
As an inspiring filmmaker, I'm glad the art of film is still being kept alive, hopefully better films can be made in the future.
