Kathal The Core is such an honest film that pushes the boundaries of family dramas. Mammooty deserves every accolade that comes his way for not only acting, but producing this wonderful film. Jyothika and the entire cast is fantastic. Jeo Baby made a BEAUTIFUL film.
The films themes about acceptance & love is showcased so beautifully. It takes its time to set up its characters and drama, and when the conflict arises it doesn’t stop providing us that intrigue. The drama is written so well that we can’t help but wonder what we would do if we were in the place of these characters. It rises so many questions not only about their decisions, but society as a whole. The court drama in the final 45 minutes is also so well done and questions not only past laws, but current social norms. The film doesn’t blame anyone, but constantly makes us empathize with their decisions & past actions.
The film is shot and edited gorgeously bringing in that tender & soulful feeling. The music was heartfelt from the starting credits to the end.
I genuinely have no complaints about this film. I was honestly shocked throughout that a superstar like Mammootty, at this age chose to do a film like this. It’s an absolute magnificent cinematic achievement just from a pure decision standpoint and one that I believe everyone should watch.
