A British woman visits her husband at the Mexican mine he is attempting to reopen and discovers that the workers refuse to enter the mine, fearing an ancient curse. The couple enter the mine to prove there is no danger and inadvertently release a demon which possesses people's left hands and forces them to behave in a suitably diabolical manner.

Demonoid
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!!! October has officially begun which means the use of Hayden’s Horror Wheel Of Doom™️ is in session! All of the films from my October watchlist has been uploaded to a randomized wheel and I will get through as many as I can this month! Oooooh! So spooky! So devilish! So unemployed!!

Today’s wheel spin landed on Demonoid! What a good name! What a good poster! What an okay movie! It wasn’t bad, and honestly got significantly better as it went on, but for the most part was pretty standard to me. Still, not a bad start to my favorite month and had some killer crawling hand effects which I’m a sucker for. Not a bad watch, but there is room for improvement. We’ll see where we go from here!

Also the ending is pretty insane and ballsy which I appreciate. Very fun and neat note to end on. So is the beginning, for that matter.

Demonoid
1981

Since I had already seen Alfredo Zacarías' "The Bees" I knew roughly what to expect from "Demonoid: Messenger of Death", but it still sucked.

The film is so full of bullshit that I won’t even begin to list the nonsense, but I say so much that absolutely nothing makes any sense at all. The plot and what the devilish hand does are absolutely pointless and the characters and dialogues are very poorly written. In addition, direction and pacing are pretty weak and only a few practical effects and the completely bizarre score can convince a little.

"Demonoid: Messenger of Death" is a really bad and stupid film, but for that reason it can be quite entertaining in places.
