Alright, two of these in a short span of time has convinced me that contemporary comedy has had a positive effect on indie horror. This was remarkably watchable.
When things kick off (admittedly takes a bit), the quirks start compounding in a great way. There’s even a music cue that combines with the setting and the lead’s Lara Flynn-Boyle vibes to remind you briefly of Twin Peaks. There’s some ludicrously over-pitched stuff that I found affecting. It jumps around in time without being annoying. Gets close to Sleepaway 2 & 3 vibes.
Throw a bag of money at ‘em.
