Sa manière ici de faire une sorte d'hommage rempli de nostalgie et de regrets du passé concernant le cinéma qu'on appelle aujourd'hui "à l'ancienne", avant le numérique, via une métaphore des coulisses/loge d'un acteur pour la limousine et des "rendez-vous" comme rôles est absolument fabuleux et impressionnant avec évidemment rien qui soit laissé au hasard.

Oscillating throughout between thinking “This guy’s a friggin’ genius” and “I’m so done with this,” as its episodic nature might anticipate, this film is a mixed bag. It’s certainly an earnest work of art, but not for everyone. I have to report that there are great moments - funny ones, touching ones, beautifully bizarre ones. Other times I’m just like 🤨 ok bro. And ultimately I’m not sure what the intended gestalt is supposed to be apart from some intellectual understanding about Carax’s thesis. Write an essay then.

J’ai tellement de choses à dire. Ça va du paf poilu de Denis lavant à à quel point j’ai été mal à l’aise. J hésite entre mettre 1 étoile ou 4 étoile. La nuit me portera conseil. Jsuis fatigué. Je regarderai plus de leos carax un jeudi soir. Je sais pas trop ce que je raconte. Bonne nuit.

Édit: bon j’ai jamais autant été aussi mal à l’aise durant le visionnage d’un film mais j’imagine que c’est ce que leos carax voulait. Je me rend bien compte que la mise en scène est incroyable donc c’était quand même un expérience à vivre.

Absolutely befuddling. Can’t tell if I loved it or hated it. Feels like it doesn’t even deserve to be called a film but then on the other hand also feels like it is the filmiest film of all films. Usually hate when shit is confusingly vague but idk with this one so I’m not gonna give it any stars until I rewatch
