Comparisons to lesser gialli are apt. I was reminded of post-Se7en potboilers, Mind Hunters, Identity, and such. It’s got a solid Stallone turn with Patrick and Lang also bringing some fun scenery chewing. Jeffrey Wright is oddly not very good and some other actors are a little watered down for the tone. The setting really works and there’s plenty of verve but needed some more wackiness. I don’t think it earns the derision thrown its way but it’s really only for those who see that cast list and can’t resist.
