This movie was gifted to me a while back, I had very low expectations but it definitely surpassed them and scratched an itch I didn’t know I had. Jester killings in hilarious ways
This movie is what I hoped Terrifer would be before I watched it. With more focus on the comedy of the kills than the gore.
The tone of this movie is consistent, but it changes in style and this is a bit disorienting.
Weirdly the two most gripping shots of its run time happen at either ends of the jesters appearance. One being as he stalks the son around a pole, the other after he has left and as we see the protagonist mangled into a abstract looking art installation. These two parts feels stylistically removed from the rest of the film, they are far more terrifying than anything else that is shown and have a much more twisted and sick depravity than most other parts
Regardless this is heaps of fun, I could genuinely go up or down half a star in my rating as I have very mixed feelings about this movie
