this is my depiction of a man i made up in my head, who is niche, romantically rotting, and reads dostoevsky's the possessed.

In classic giallo fashion, there’s some blood here and there. I despised Bernard since the beginning. Made me a little anxious at times. Very unlikeable characters, tbh. Took me some time to finish it. I guess I liked it, tho.

A man tries to solve the murder of a girl he fantasized about during a vacation. He consults gossips and his own dreams until he gives himself over to a fever and time brings to run out. His fantasies are rendered in high contrast black and white and with haunting visuals. Very much like Laura (1994) by way of Italian director Michelangelo Antonioni or a more expressionist and drearier proto-Twin Peaks. It’s as good as it sounds
