Really moving slice of life family drama.

It does not intend to do anything to wow you -- it's simple, but a well executed story that had me emotionally engaged from start to finish. Loved it. Great ending.

Maybe if I say “Jane Levy” three times in front of a mirror she’ll show up and gently help me realize that people are good and life is worth living.

A cute indie drama that could’ve been so much better. The last scene is truly powerful, but it’s a shame that what came bafore don’t hit nearly as hard. 

It’s always a please to see David Strathairn, though.

Feel quite mixed on this one. On one hand, I found a lot of the slice of life stuff to be very effective and enjoyable to sit with, a few of the performances were great, and it asks some interesting questions. On the other, I don’t feel as though MacLachlan is a strong enough writer or filmmaker to make it all come together, at least for me. I know there were a lot of other people in the theater tonight who really connected with this. 

A definite positive was this being my first visit to the Tivoli Theatre, which is really beautiful.  I will hopefully be back for more After Hours Film Society screenings in the future.
