This might be a hot take, but I just find this film to be good!

This has always been my favorite Beethoven film. Someone said in their review for this film that this is their comfort film, and I totally agree. Maybe it’s the nostalgia, but I find this film to be comforting.

It definitely has its issues, like having an almost rape scene and a pre prison Danny Masterson, but it’s also super cheesy and super 90’s that I can’t help but love it. How can I say no to all those cute doggos? Also, I think George’s nightmare scene is super impressive. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many puppies in a single room. And him running and yelling “PUPPY!!!!” will never not be funny to me.

I did learn some really interesting things during and after this watch, like that this film was shot by the same guy that shot Jaws. It’s definitely a film that’s best left in the 90’s, but I think it’ll always be one of my favorite childhood films that I love revisiting.

I still think it’s funny that this is an Oscar nominated film. The Day I Fall in Love is such a banger though.
