In a world ruled by crime and betrayal, mafia kingpin Sakthivel and his brother Manikkam rescue a young boy, Amaran, during a violent police shootout and raise him as their own. Years later, when an assassination attempt shakes Sakthivel's empire, suspicion turns inward. Consumed by vengeance, Sakthivel sets out to destroy the very family he once built.

❝You protected me from the Lord of Death. Our two destinies are written as one. You and I are now bound together as one. Till the very end.❞

Mani Ratnam, what are you doing mate? Maybe it's time to put the pen down and retire, because Thug Life is a scrambled mess of a film that should never have been made. Its ensemble cast is completely wasted on a trash plot and even trashier characters. Even the music couldn't save it; bar one song, A. R. Rahman really dropped the ball, especially considering the last collaboration he did with Mani Ratnam. It's not worth watching this film even if you're a huge fan of any of its actors, because you'll be severely disappointed.

i got BP and sugar after watching that movie. 1 star for Aishwarya Lekshmi and Ashok Selvan and the SMALL moments of chemistry between them. Would have been a 5 star movie if it was a rom-com about the two of them instead. I never laughed this much at a movie that takes itself so damn seriously.
