Can you believe this movie is 20 years old and I'm just watching it now?!
I was watching the night this movie won Best Original Song at the Oscars- if it weren't for Lose Yourself that might've been far fetched - and I saw the performance and I had that song stuck in my head the whole night (I think it's gonna happen again 😅) but I never actually watched the movie. And even though it never got spoiled to me, I had a feeling something wasn't going to go according to plan because... When has anything in life ever gone according to plan.
Taraji P. Henson and Taryn Manning were the clear standouts for me. Sorry Terrence Howard you were good, but the ladies in their respective screen time were the highlight for me.
Another one from the never-ending watchlist over and done 👍🏼
Also, it was nice to see DJ Quals as the "light skinned" man in the operation.
