❝My regret, besides dying is... our greatest adventure is over before it began, and no one will even remember us.❞

The Road to El Dorado is a bit of a weird one in my opinion. The plot is mostly engaging, and the animation is beautiful, but there's a couple of things which throw the whole thing off-piste. Miguel and Tulio's banter and little jibes don't really work because there's almost zero chemistry between them, and because they're the main characters, the entire film is affected. The story fakes out its ending twice, at which point the hour and a half run-time feels like forever, and as much as I love Elton John's work, the songs here are diabolical. So although I did have some fun watching Chel and Tzekel-Kan, I just don't think I'm the target audience of this film.
