‘nothing like a little disaster for sorting things out‘
I feel like I'm a bit out of my depth when it comes to 'Trilogy of Incommunicability'. there's always something about those films that I miss. at the same time, I genuinely loved this work. most likely because it's about photography. and when you see the world through a lens, it seems magical. I constantly make an effort to maintain a sober and realistic perspective. sometimes I just want to get lost in images and illusions though. living this way is obviously a lot more interesting. ‘Blow Up’ is a film that revolves entirely around a single individual. yes, the female characters are no more expressive than the photographic images here, but for a reason. Thomas obviously hates reality and does everything he can to avoid it. he hates people because they can't fully meet his utopian expectations. the only thing he feels he has control over is the camera. later, however, we will see that this is also untrue. and the mimes will play tennis...
