Billy Crystal shows why he is a romcom "atypical" icon. The movie is somewhat saved by how the story is told; everyone loves gossip.

A real slog. It clearly wants to be the next When Harry Met Sally, but it gets too mired down in an exhausting barrage of scenes about how (this) marriage is difficult. And the overwhelming number of Billy Crystal jokes is just too much for one movie, specially when they are coming from every single character as if this was some kind of Billy Crystal Invasion of the Body Snatchers scenario.
I did enjoy the framing device of a couple's love story being told by their friends to a newcomer who is marrying into the friend group. And it is successfully charming in its imitation of Nora Ephron in many moments. I think I would really enjoy a version of this movie that was 30 minutes shorter and had another screenwriter taking over all the non-Crystal dialogue.

literally every fear I’ve had about getting married in a movie and yet it ended well for them so maybe there’s hope
