Alex, Marty, and other zoo animals find a way to escape from Madagascar when the penguins reassemble a wrecked airplane. The precariously repaired craft stays airborne just long enough to make it to the African continent. There the New Yorkers encounter members of their own species for the first time. Africa proves to be a wild place, but Alex and company wonder if it is better than their Central Park home.

I feel like this is the Madagascar movie everyone remembers instead of the original one and yeah I will admit that this is the best one. It’s definitely the funniest mostly because they realized everyone’s favorite characters were the penguins and the lemurs so this movie gave them bigger roles. The story is still pretty much as basic as it can get but it’s a kids movie so I can’t really fault it for that. This one also definitely had more adult jokes that would blow over kids heads than the OG which makes it a great film for the whole family to enjoy. I like it so I’ll probably watch it again.
