LONG ASS PARAGRAPH ABOUT THE CONDOM WITH TEETH MOVIE 😝
It was too good to be true.... A german-spoken film set in NY starring a gruff chain-smoking gay sicilian detective with all the staples of an 80s cop action movie (lethal weapon-like quips, the old captain who's "too old for this shit", the younger and elusive love interest) and the sensibilities of a Henenlotter flick (braindamage, basket case, and dare I say Frankenhooker too), that, in defiance of it's stupid but accurate title that kinda leads you to believe this might be your average low quality gimmicky shock fest (killer sofa, zombeavers and the like), is actually a decently produced, well shot b-movie with really good set design and costuming, 100% textually gay with an actual plot (crazy one, sure) about a religious zealot wanting to rid the city of "sinners" (gay men and sex workers, basically) through uhh mutant dick biting condoms. But we HAD to ruin it with a transphobic caricature of a trans woman, obsessive, "manly", predatory.... that only seems to exist for the protagonist to misgneder, dead name and point to in disgust, just so say "hey isn't this really weird" MY GUY YOU'RE IN A GAY MOVIE ABOUT A KILLER CONDOM. The rest of the film is absolutely my shit, but the bizarre transphobia is just....no....
