The Dance of Two Left Feet
What a day to be poetic, a dancer, and a Filipino queer. This film somehow exceeds my expectations, as I was trying to see something intimate but received something more to show what a confusion love can be perceived to be. The fact that he (Rocco) dances his yearning towards (Paulo) was one of my favorite scenes; it was something that made me feel like yearning is a great fundamental matter if you're in love with something without being sure of it but so sure of your emotions and love.

The poetries were an absolute peak; the deep Filipino words made me search, as I was unable to comprehend them, for it was my first time encountering some of the words they've used.

The Dance of Two Left Feet
***“tama ka. puwede ngang dalawa silang lalaki.”

“o... dalawang babae.”***

this is my first time seeing a filipino BL film, where you can feel the pure emotions through presenting the beauty of arts. buhay na buhay sa mga tula na binubuo ng mga malalalim na salita.

i love jean garcia’s character here—the way she shows her love for dancing, at kung paano niya ipinakita na desidido siyang gawin ang lahat ng gusto niya sa paraan ng pagmamahal sa sining. one of my favorite scene here is the part where they focused the camera to ma’am karen, while marlon and dennis are dancing in front of her, and there’s a mirror behind ma’am karen and you can see their reflections while they are dancing. i love the idea of the cinematography. the acting skills—the way she carried that scene, like, you can actually feel her emotions habang bumubuhos ang mga luha, na parang pakiramdam niya, nakikita niya ang sarili niya. i cried on that part, ewan, ang galing niya.
