I’ve tried to watch this so many times and I can never get past a few minutes. I think I just need to be honest with myself that I do not like this movie despite really liking Esther.

I honestly really enjoy movies and books that focus on an out of touch gen z or millenial. The only critique I have is that I really would have enjoyed this as a TV show. Every scene was the set up to a punchline and I feel like I would have enjoyed that more in an episodic series. My favorite aspect of this film was June’s parents. Best casting for parents in this film. James Remar has been a favorite of mine since og Dexter and I LOVE Beverly D’Angelo’s smoker voice and I feel like it adds to the character. I loved how sincerely they played their roles.
