Missed this when it came to theaters and always wanted to check it out, very glad I did. Loved the shot on 16mm photography which really contributes to the midnight movie aesthetic. I was already sold on the “Steven Soderbergh produced indie sci-fi movie” sales pitch but now having seen it it’s still somehow weirder than I expected. Definitely will be returning to this one.
Also was very curious about DJ Muggs creating music for the film expecting some drum or synth heavy sounds (which delivered) but it was also more atmospheric and surreal. Turns out Muggs and frequent David Lynch collaborator Dean Hurley put together the score. Pretty neat!
