slow is a film about the spaces between moments, where yearning and introspection meet, and try to work things out. it’s a nuanced exploration of intimacy and human connection, and the difficulty of knowing what it is that you need but still struggling to communicate it. chemistry between the leads was wonderful too, and the yearning was off the charts.

the 16mm grain and muted colours makes this so aesthetically pleasing. also, I just realized this is fleabag and hot priest in a different font and I’m not ok

Consent and communication handled with rare grace. Dance turns into their shared language, and silence says more than words. Sure, it drifts a bit at times, but the chemistry is undeniable. Gentle, honest, quietly heartbreaking and so beautiful to watch.

the first half was absolute perfection. i wish the second half focused more on dovydas as it would help add substance to the story which became too fixated on elena’s pain from not having her needs met. even though he told her from the very beginning? that? he? couldn’t?

the frustration, insecurity and trying (in spite of everything) all still made a lot of sense to me though and that just makes it even more heartbreaking 😞
