The metaphor here is stretched a bit too thin for my liking but the life story and more importantly the poetry helps carry this.

Overview: Super cool Black lesbian poet is obsessed with outer space.
Best Performance: Queen Nikki
Best Scene: Whenever she tells people she’s not going to answer their questions.
Worst Thing About the Movie: I wanted to know more about her being a lesbian and her partner.
Special Shout-out: Those neckties.
Thought I Had While Watching: Welp I know what poetry collection I’m reading next.
Role Anne Hathaway Should Have Played: I suppose it would have to be the wife.

The interview between Nikki Giovanni and James Baldwin looks like the realist and most chill interview I’ve ever seen.
