I wanna make this very clear that the story itself is so close to being five stars it’s not even funny. In all honesty, this probably would rest at a solid 4.5/5 if it weren’t for one thing… the narration. (In terms of rating, I’m gonna round up for the sake of stars; but for anyone who cares about specificities, I’ve left my genuine score at the bottom.)
The general narration was pretty good. The thing that got a little stale at times was the “insert scenario reminded me of *insert movie” format that was repetitive throughout. For that, I’m knocking it down to four stars. BUT, apart from that, this may be one of the best documentaries I’ve ever watched.
The final 30 minutes from this felt like an honest to god fictional story, and the fact that it all happened is actually batshit crazy?? A really incredible story that I would urge ANYBODY who enjoys film a little more than the average Joe. As a physical media geek, this resonated with me in ways I can’t even explain.
4.4/5
