Still watching the English dub of this film.
At the end of the flick one of the characters says he’s invested the group’s money into Nokia stock, and specifically speculates that it will make them a lot of money in a few years. I find this fascinating because I found out that around the time of the release of both versions of this film he is absolutely correct. Nokia stock skyrocketed in 1999, a year after Contract Killer had its initial theatrical release. Nokia stock then went on a decline. Then, in 2002, the film gets an English dub. Nokia stock then took five years to hit its second wave but peaked at double what it was in 2002 by 2007. I’m shocked that this film was so accurate on its stock predictions!

Based on the film’s 2002 English dub.
Damn! This was great from start to finish. I’ve never seen a Jet Li title before, but when I saw him in that snazzy suit on the cover of a bootleg DVD#/media/File%3AHitman-poster.jpg) at Goodwill I knew I had to see what this film in front of me was. For once this curiosity actually paid off… even if the DVD couldn’t play past the 20 minute mark and eventually months down the line I settled for streaming it on Hoopla. And it was WORTH it! Every fight sequence is incredible, the bond between Li and Norman was fun from the start and grew to be a genuine friendship for both instead of just business, and the story and cinematography were both so good I was immediately sucked in. Jet Li left Hong Kong to go make films stateside after this, and he left on an incredible high note. I almost dare to call it must-see action cinema, and I must see the original at some point.

Not among the greatest of Jet Li's Hong Kong flicks, this movie has too much comedy and too little action.
What action is there, however, is usually really good...although the whole thing with the laser rings was dumb as hell, sorry.
"I haven't seen you wearing this suit before."
"Really? Isn't it nice?"
"It's a bit over the top."
