So… it turns out the show essentially invented Rand Gauthier’s character in Pam & Tommy** just to put the blame for the stolen tape on Tommy Lee. They completely rewrote Gauthier’s story and motives and framed everything in a way that makes the crime look like a reaction to Tommy supposedly mistreating him. At that point it doesn’t feel like creative license anymore. It feels like a narrative trick that turns a real crime into something Tommy somehow “brought on himself.” Honestly, that’s just awful…
