I feel bad for Mena Massoud. Man had the whole world in front of him in 2019 starring in the Aladdin remake and now he’s starring in this.
Without a doubt the worst animated movie about migration of 2023 released in the UK in 2024. This somehow made Migration look like a cinematic masterpiece. I was even rolling my eyes when there’s a joke here that is clearly from Migration.
Very bad animation that is lifeless and ugly, all the environments feel empty and inhabited (even when it’s shown to a be human populated era). The climax takes place on the slowest moving road I’ve ever seen on a film. I’d call it predictable at points but I was giving it too much credit in how it handles its plot lines and contains one of the most annoying characters in any animated film I’ve seen.
Somehow they got Shawn Mendes on this soundtrack. I don’t know how that happened?. But his song is not good. In fact every song is not good in this movie. They paid to use the opening bars of Eye of the Tiger for a 5 second movie and never played it again. Is that were the money was going? The money from the 15 “film funds” on display at the beginning and end of the movie.
