Ugh, this movie was not my cup of tea at all. I think this is a big whiff for Wilder. I think the humor is, for the most part, pitiful and dry. It really just was trying to be funny but wasn't. There were some decent bits near the end, but I didn't laugh or chuckle once. I think Marilyn Monroe and the main actor put on decent performances, but I think they both reinforced harmful gender stereotypes we still see impacting society today. The man who isn't loyal still has men being called cheaters to this day. He's pathetic and his conclusion was a bit dumb to me. And the dumb blonde role by Monroe is iconic but so degrading. She played a much better role in Some Like it Hot in my opinion. Overall, this just wasn't my movie.
