Ice Cream Fever
Alright, buddy, you need to stop with the umlauts. Jesus fucking christ. Other than the abuse of umlauts, I liked this a lot, which probably has a lot to do with when I started watching movies and the sorts of movies that made me interested in film.

One of the best things I can say about this film is that it has an immaculate sense of style, which is always conceived of as an audiovisual whole. In every single moment of this film, something is being accomplished stylistically, so that even when nothing's happening, there's a lot going on.

This movie made me sad at some parts, partly because I wanted those two to get together. I say this often, but I relate to people who selfishly push others away thinking they're doing them a favor, an instinct I still haven't really overcome. Even though I'm the type of person who believes that we're born worthy of love, it's hard to accept that about myself. So, in addition to all of the negative social and emotional benefits, I relate strongly to these sorts of characters. In this case, it's also bad because I think if I had Natsumi's experience in this film I would fricking end it all, man.

In this case, the film lets me live a little hopefully, in line with Saho's statement that the summer will come again. It doesn't seem like it ever did, but...

The vocalist from Wednesday Campanella, Utaha, dances several times in this film. That nets it an entire half star, as is my standard practice.

Watching that son of a bitch erase the flower made me mad. :(

"Look carefully. Their stomachs are black. They eat stones mistaking them as feed. No matter if it's right or wrong, they just live in the given environment."

Ice Cream Fever
Watching this film with Serena Motola in it, on a summer night while eating an ice cream might be my heaven.
